We are thrilled to announce that we have been certified Great Place To Work® Certified™ in India (from June 2023 to June 2024). This is a great achievement for us as this is the first time we are participating in Great Place to Work® India. We did it in style with an overall Trust Index© score of 97%!
This remarkable recognition is a testament to our unwavering commitment to fostering a positive work culture, nurturing our talented team, and creating an environment where everyone can thrive. We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate this milestone together!
Great Place To Work® is the global authority on workplace culture. Since 1992, they have surveyed more than 100 million employees worldwide and used those deep insights to define what makes a great workplace: trust. Their employee survey platform empowers leaders with the feedback, real-time reporting, and insights they need to make strategic people decisions. The Institute serves businesses, non-profits and government agencies in more than 60 countries and has conducted pioneering research on the characteristics of great workplaces for over three decades.
The certification is based on employee feedback and extensive evaluation of various factors, including trust, camaraderie, work-life balance, career development opportunities, and overall job satisfaction.
Awsm was founded in 2010 and has since then made a name for itself in the WordPress community. We (with less than 20 employees) were among the top 10 companies that made the biggest impact on WordPress 6.2 – a list that had giants like Google and Automattic.
Awsm has always been employee-centric and this certification is made possible by our philosophy of keeping things simple and spreading happiness. Obtaining the Great Place to Work certification is a significant milestone on our ongoing journey to create an exceptional work environment.
Each member of our team brings unique skills, perspectives, and talents to the table. Their dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to excellence have made Awsm the incredible workplace it is today.
Awsmites are treated as valuable family members and never as resources to be utilized. We have Happiness Managers here and not HR Managers. Awsmites get benefits comparable to the best in the industry.
We provide performance appraisal twice a year and detest micro-management. We are now working remotely with the team spread across two countries. The work schedule is flexible and one just needs to put in 40 hours a week.
Remote culture has brought our team closer as we have never let distance stand in our way. We have successfully organized all our celebrations online. The quarterly meetups we organize in scenic places regularly have also helped us get 99% in the Survey for camaraderie between people.
The other perks enjoyed by the team include family health insurance, paid annual vacation, maternity & paternity leaves, workiversary gifts and more.
We foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork where open communication, idea sharing, and constructive feedback are encouraged. This collaborative spirit fuels innovation, propels our growth, and enhances our overall work experience.
Even when working from the office, we only had formal meetings very rarely. Instead, we had coffee breaks over which we hashed out new ideas and charted out our day’s work.
Our Management has played a vital role in shaping our company’s culture. Their guidance, mentorship, and commitment to transparency have built a strong foundation of trust, fostering a positive atmosphere where ideas flourish. They also ensure that the employees are happy and a portion of the profits are utilized for their benefits.
We take our responsibility to society very seriously and have always believed in giving back to the community. We have participated in do_action Karnataka 2021 Online Charity Hackathon, pledged our resources to the Five for the Future initiative, and financially supports WordPress Foundation, Big Orange Heart, PHP Foundation and the WPGivesAHand Movement. We also offer our products and services at discounted prices to non-profit organizations and NGOs.
We also try our best to buy our corporate gifts from home bakers to promote local businesses and organizations run by groups that deserve all help like Thanku Foods.
Awsm was created due to our founder Aravind Ajith’s love for WordPress and has now become a hot spot for WordPress lovers. We have been consistently contributing to the WordPress core and organizing/attending WordCamps and meetups. Last year we attended WordCamp Asia in Thailand and helped organize WordCamp Kerala (the first WordCamp in Kerala) and meetups in Trivandrum.
Over the next few days, we’ll analyze the data from this survey and take action on our areas of improvement so we can continue to get more awesome. But right now, we have some unforgettable parties to plan and wonderful people to thank.
We will continue to build an extraordinary workplace where everyone can thrive, achieve their goals, and find true fulfillment in their professional journey.
