ClearIAS is India’s leading platform for UPSC Civil Services Examination preparation — one of the most competitive exams in the world. Awsm designed and built a cross-platform mobile app connecting to the existing ClearIAS WordPress content library via REST API, giving millions of aspirants fast, clean mobile access to thousands of study notes and mock tests. Within 60 days of launch, the app had 50,000 active users. It has since surpassed 100,000 installs and remains one of India’s most highly-rated UPSC preparation apps on the Play Store.

ClearIAS is India’s leading online platform for UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) Civil Services Examination preparation — the most competitive examination in India, attracting millions of aspirants each year. ClearIAS has built a reputation for high-quality, free study materials — comprehensive notes, mock tests, and current affairs coverage that help aspirants navigate one of the world’s most demanding exam processes.
The challenge
ClearIAS had a large and growing library of study content on their website — thousands of notes, mock tests, and study materials. Their audience — UPSC aspirants studying for months or years — needed fast, reliable mobile access to this content. The app needed to make browsing thousands of articles a genuinely pleasant experience on a mobile screen, with performance good enough to work in low-connectivity conditions common across India.
What we build
Cross-Platform Learning App
A React Native app delivering the full ClearIAS study library on iOS and Android — a single codebase, two platforms, consistent experience.
WordPress REST API Integration
The app connects to ClearIAS’s existing WordPress backend via REST API — pulling study notes, mock test content, and materials directly from the platform their editorial team already publishes to. No duplicate content management. No separate CMS. The app is a beautifully designed mobile interface on top of content that already exists.
Content Experience
